The Edwards House in Fort Collins is a neoclassical estate that was originally built as a family home for Alfred Augustus Edwards and his new bride, Phoebe Edson. He picked this lot to ensure his wife could be near her sister and brother-in-law, as well as their three kids. They stayed true to the style of the time, using arched windows, large columns across the front porch, and a hexagon pergola. The family would remain in the house until 1981, when Ruth Edwards sold it to a group of investors.
From there, the house was lovingly renovated to stay true to the style while also bringing about a few modern conveniences. It was expanded so it could become a bed and breakfast, and in 2014, it underwent an extensive renovation. The result is a gorgeous home that packs in all of the original Victorian charm while keeping your personal comfort as a top priority. In addition to luxurious stays, this home also frequently hosts customized events unlike any other!

With the Edwards House, you will be able to spend your entire weekend on the premises. If you want to stay inside the home, you will be able to choose between eight spacious rooms and suites where you will have plenty of space to get ready alongside your party. The morning of your celebration, you can break out the champagne as you get ready in style!
If you would prefer something a bit larger, you can reserve Phoebe’s Place. Located in the basement, this apartment is outfitted with a bedroom, a kitchenette, two walk-in showers, and cozy yet neutral furniture. This area is ideal for grooms since it will let them spread out and get ready while keeping them completely separate from the bridal party.
If you would like to host an outdoor wedding, the garden is your spot! This private, fenced-in lawn is surrounded by dense evergreens, giving you that wild and woodsy feeling without any of the downsides of a forest. You can place your altar in front of the trees for a dreamy backdrop throughout all of your portraits.
Cocktail Hour And Gorgeous Wedding Receptions At The Edwards House in Fort Collins
Once you have finished exchanging your vows, it will be time for your cocktail hour! The porch is my favorite spot for this. As your guests sip on signature drinks, they can sit back and take in the perfect day. Meanwhile, you will be able to explore the house as well as the town for your portraits.
For your reception, your guests can head into the Montezuma Room. This space is gorgeous yet entirely unexpected, offering an authentic lodge feel. The room has fully wooden walls with cathedral ceilings, wooden rafters, and a stone fireplace. It’s moody yet elegant with an aesthetic that can move seamlessly across wedding styles. When you add in some flowers and greenery, it becomes a downright dream! This space is able to hold up to 50 guests, making the Edwards House the ideal spot for microweddings.

With the Edwards House, you will have so many fantastic photo opportunities! Once you have finished getting ready for your day, you can head into the backyard and take some pictures in front of the trees with your wedding party. The interior of the house also has a lovely staircase you can use to show off the train of your dress.
Once it’s time for your first look photos, you can use the exterior of the house. The front porch is especially perfect for this portion, giving you a picturesque spot that celebrates your unique wedding setting. Following your ceremony, you can grab some group portraits in the backyard before taking your couple’s portraits. While the yard of the house gives you several dreamy locations, you will also be right next to Old Town Fort Collins. You can take a short walk and get a few pictures with the charming town in the backdrop!
Wedding Details
The Edwards House has extensive experience planning some of the most legendary events around! When you start out, you will be able to choose between several wedding packages that will ensure you have everything you need for your ideal celebration. Every package will include five hours of event time with the ability to host your wedding inside or outside. They will provide you with set-up and decoration coordination as well as tear-down and clean-up. Your rental will additionally give you two overnight rooms in the manor building for your wedding night, with the ability to get ready before your ceremony.
They will provide you with an on-site, day-of wedding planner, and they will handle all of the tables and chairs, giving you several options of styles. From there, you will be able to choose from a number of add-ons, including decoration planning/coordination/set-up, a personalized wedding sign, and complete set-up and clean-up. Their planner will help you with the catering, and the inn will provide meals throughout your stay. While they do offer room blocks, you will be within walking distance of a few fabulous hotels if you would prefer a separate space for your guests.
