So many factors come into play when choosing the details for your day!
From finding your dream dress to choosing a stunning venue, from picking out the perfect flowers to selecting your photographer; planning a wedding requires making hundreds of tiny (or not so tiny) decisions. And one of the first things you need to do is tour some of the best Boulder wedding venues!
As a Boulder photographer working in the wedding industry since 2014 I’d love to share an experienced perspective on the pros and cons of some of my favorite venues in Boulder and the surrounding area. Although this is not an exhaustive list of venues, it will give you a taste of the variety of options available for your 2026 Boulder wedding.
Nestled in the foothills between Boulder & Lyons, the historic Greenbriar Inn is a favorite date spot for my husband and I. The romantic atmosphere, reminiscent of an English tavern, is happily situated on 20 acres and can accommodate weddings from of up to 300 guests. Planning something small? They have packages for you, too! This hidden treasure of a venue has served guests for over 50 years.
Perks:
Stunning property
Accommodations on site
Ample parking
Indoor/outdoor space
Downsides:
Higher price point
Boulder Sunrise Amphitheater is one of the most picturesque locations on my list. If you and your partner are planning an outdoor ceremony this is an amazing venue. Perched in the foothills up flagstaff road with views of the flatirons and Boulder Valley, this majestic location will wow your guests. A couple of drawbacks to this otherwise amazing location; there is no onsite bathroom or getting ready space and you will need separate Boulder venue for your wedding reception. The capacity is on the small side at under 100 guests.
Perks:
Stunning outdoor location
Affordable reservation
Downsides:
No indoor getting ready space or plumbing
No reception area
No electricity
Boulder Sunrise Amphitheater is one of the most stunning outdoor wedding venues on this list, so if you’re getting married in Colorado to encounter the natural beauty, you have to check it out!
Nestled in Boulder Canyon, Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings offers a quiet setting with charming creekside ceremony location and a perfect lawn for games and family activities. This venue is an amazing option if you want an outdoor setting with the ceremony and reception at one location, and the option of indoor space in case of inclement weather. It combines the beauty of the outdoors with the convenience of indoor space. With a capacity of 250 this is a great option for a larger wedding.
Perks:
Indoor/outdoor reception area
Creekside ceremony
Downsides:
Higher (undisclosed) price point
Boulder Creek by Wedgewood Weddings is a great option if you’re looking for a wedding venue that can handle most of the planning and details for you!
Located beside the St. Vrain river 20 minutes from Boulder in Lyons, Colorado, The Farmette is a charming outdoor venue boasting a creekside ceremony location and
fresh cut flowers from their onsite flower farm. Rental includes dressing areas for the bride and groom + access to a climate controlled barn + professional kitchen. The 125 capacity is perfect for an smaller wedding.
Perks:
Beautiful farm setting
Downsides:
Higher price point
One of the most elegant Boulder wedding venues on my list; Hotel Boulderado offers out of town couples the convenience of booking rooms on location at their venue. Its ideal location just north of Pearl street offers a large number of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.
Perks:
Elegant setting
You and your guests can stay at the venue
Downsides:
Paid garage parking
High starting price point
Rembrandt Yard is another of the most well known Boulder wedding venues. This stunning location may be the perfect fit if you’re interested in a weatherproof venue option with the capacity for both the ceremony and reception. The capacity of 125 makes Rembrandt Yard ideal for a smaller wedding.
Perks –
Pet friendly venue
After party location included
Downsides –
No onsite parking
Located in the heart of Boulder, Etown Hall is a great option for an indoor wedding/reception.
Perks:

Fully equipped kitchen
Downsides:
No natural lighting
In addition to the well known Boulder wedding venues listed above, there are some new venues in town!
This picturesque location just North of Boulder is a regenerative farm and up and coming Boulder wedding venue that just started offering bookings this year. Although mostly outdoor, yellow barn does offer an indoor getting ready space for both the bride and groom.
Perks:
Getting ready area onsite
Stunning outdoor setting
Downsides:
Limited indoor capacity
Niwot Hall, located in idillic downtown Niwot just north of of Boulder opened for events in March of 2025.
Perks:
Reasonable cost
Downsides:
Smaller venue
No outdoor space
Whether you choose to get married in a venue or the mountains, a local park, or a ballroom, I would love to be a witness to your best day ever! When all is said and done you don’t “need” all of the things the wedding industry offers to have an amazing wedding. The important pieces are the people you love, and the person you’re saying yes to.
If you’re planning a more adventurous wedding those are my absolute favorite!
And if you’re planning your engagement photos, check out a few of my favorite locations in and around Boulder for Engagement sessions! (They’s be great for elopements or couples wedding portraits, too!)
